Popular Nigerian streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, famously known as Peller, was on Friday reportedly ordered to leave the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The incident occurred during the streamer’s ongoing nationwide tour, which saw him and a rowdy entourage attempt to gain an audience with the first-class monarch.

In a viral video capturing the confrontation, palace officials and resident chiefs were seen scolding the group over what they described as a “lack of decorum” and an inappropriate entry into the revered traditional institution. One of the voices in the footage informed the group that the Alake would no longer receive them, citing their conduct as a breach of palace etiquette. Sensing the rising tension, Peller promptly exited the premises, urging his crew members to follow suit.

The development in Abeokuta comes just days after the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) declared Peller “wanted” following a controversial visit to the palace of the Oba of Benin on March 6, 2026.

The BTC, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Frank Irabor, described the Benin visit as “unauthorised” and a “desecration of the sacred precincts of the palace.” The council alleged that Peller gained entry without formal approval, addressed a Benin chief with the Yoruba title “Kabiyesi,” and engaged in “frivolous content creation.”

Following the Benin incident, a palace chief was suspended indefinitely, and a queen involved in the encounter reportedly faced disciplinary proceedings.

The latest incident in Egbaland has sparked fresh criticism on social media, with many users accusing the content creator of disregarding traditional protocols for digital “clout.”

While Peller’s management has previously defended his actions as unintentional and driven by “human excitement,” the streamer is yet to issue a formal statement regarding his exit from the Alake’s palace. The Benin Traditional Council has maintained its demand for an unreserved written apology, warning of potential legal action if he fails to appear before a committee of chiefs.
