The family of late gospel singer Toluwanisings has threatened to exhume his remains if he is buried in a cemetery instead of the family compound in Oyo State. A representative of the family made the position known while speaking to journalists, insisting that the singer must be buried beside his late mother. The family said it had resolved that the late musician would not be buried in a cemetery, warning that his remains would be removed if the decision was ignored. “We have all decided in the family that Toluwanisings must not be buried in the cemetery; we will remove him from there. I am speaking on behalf of the family members,” the representative said. The representative further insisted that the family wanted the singer brought home for burial, adding that the family would not accept arrangements that prevented them from burying him in the compound. “If you say you can’t bury him in the house that he built, we don’t know your reasons, and we don’t even care to know; bring him home. He has a father’s compound; we will bury him beside his mother’s grave,” the representative added. The family’s position comes amid discussions surrounding the burial arrangements for the late singer. The development has drawn attention to the family’s insistence that Toluwanisings be laid to rest in accordance with its wishes.
