Nollywood star Juliana Olayode, popularly known as ‘Toyo Baby,’ has finally revealed the real reason behind her years-long rift with her mentor, Funke Akindele. Speaking on Chude Jideonwo’s podcast, Olayode disclosed that their fallout was orchestrated by a “toxic” third party—her former music teacher and manager. Olayode alleged that the manager took total control of her social media and professional emails, sending unauthorized and offensive messages to Akindele’s production company, Scene One TV. “I didn’t even know what was being sent out in my name,” she admitted, explaining that the manipulation made her appear ungrateful and arrogant to the ‘Jenifa’ star. The misunderstanding led to a seven-year separation. However, the duo officially reconciled in 2025 after Olayode’s public apology. Akindele, currently dominating the 2026 box office, embraced her former protege, referring to her as “my child.” Fans are now hailing the “motherly heart” of Funke Akindele for forgiving the actress despite the years of silence caused by the third-party interference.
