The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has issued a passionate appeal to political heavyweights who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging them to return and salvage the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Abuja during the inauguration of the PDP National Convention Committee, the lawmaker lamented the party’s dwindling influence, noting that leadership crises had caused the PDP’s Senate representation to plummet from 37 to a mere 6 senators. Senator Natasha revealed that her private conversations with former colleagues highlighted internal strife as the primary reason for their exit. However, she maintained that the alternatives have not lived up to expectations. “When I asked colleagues why they left, they mentioned internal disputes. I’m saying to them: trust me, it’s not greener on the other side. You’re welcome back to PDP,” she declared. The Chairman of the Convention Committee and former Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, described the current state of the party as a “consequential moment of truth.” He noted that following the appellate court’s affirmation of the National Caretaker Working Committee, the party now has a “fresh opportunity for renewal.” Ikpeazu, an ambassador-designate, stressed that the PDP’s survival depends on “honest reconciliation rooted in truth and sustained by mutual respect.” Post navigation Prof. Mansur Sokoto Dumps Tinubu, Says North is Now ‘Single and Searching’ for 2027 Gbolarumi is My Godfather, But I Stand with APC” – MC Swagger Breaks Silence on Political Loyalty
