Controversial street-pop artist, Portable, has made a public appeal to Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, seeking a masterclass on how to turn digital streams into substantial wealth.

In a viral video broadcast, the Zazu singer expressed deep frustration over his current earnings from platforms like Apple Music, despite his relentless work ethic and frequent song releases.

Portable, who is known for dropping new music almost monthly, claimed that the revenue hitting his account does not reflect his global popularity or his fan base in the United States and Europe.

He lamented the “cheap” nature of Nigerian streams and alleged that his earnings are being heavily diluted before reaching him.

“I am in pain. I have been putting my song on Apple Music every month but the money I am generating is too low. They divide my earnings into 17. Please, come and teach me how to fetch music money,” Portable pleaded.

The singer identified veteran producer and music executive Don Jazzy as the key to unlocking his financial potential. Portable suggested that his current trajectory is being hindered only by a lack of technical “know-how” regarding streaming algorithms and international revenue collection.

The singer boasted that with the right guidance from the Mavin boss, his status in the Nigerian music industry would be peerless.

“If Don Jazzy teaches me how to generate more money from streaming platforms, I would be bigger than all artistes in Nigeria,” he declared.

Portable’s outburst highlights a growing conversation within the Nigerian music industry regarding the disparity between “viral fame” and “streaming fortune.” While he remains one of the most talked-about personalities on social media, translating that engagement into high-value foreign streams remains a hurdle he is desperate to cross.
