Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has shared the story behind her strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The actress, who backed Tinubu during the last election, revealed that her support intensified after she was bullied by an opposition supporter regarding her choice.
Akintola expressed that her decision to stand by Tinubu was, in part, a reaction to the bullying she experienced.
In a recent episode of “With Chude,” she urged Nigerians to respect others’ political choices and opinions.

“I supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last election because someone annoyed me with their bullying. Nigerians can be frustrating. We should not bully others. Everyone has the right to their own opinions. If you don’t like Tinubu, that’s fine; you have the right not to like him. If you prefer another candidate, that’s your choice. But don’t bully others for their decisions.
“They bullied aunty Joke [Silva] so harshly that someone wrote something incredibly inhumane. So, I made a video saying, ‘I’m also supporting Tinubu, prove me wrong if you can change my mind.’
“We need to stop bullying. We must acknowledge that it’s impossible to agree with everyone, and that diversity is what makes us interesting. If we were all the same, life would be boring. You may not agree that he was the best person for the job, but at that moment, he was my choice, and I voted for him. You can’t take my voice away from me; it belongs to me,” she stated.
