The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode has rejected Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall’s lineage claim, declaring his submitted form for the Awujale selection process “null, void, and of no consequence.”
In a letter dated December 11, 2025, the ruling house stated their investigation found no evidence of Ayinde’s connection to the Jadiara Royal House or the Fusengbuwa lineage, which is responsible for selecting the next Awujale. The letter was signed by Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

The ruling house criticized the form’s endorsement by Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye, a person they claim is not a recognized member of the Jadiara Royal House. They noted the form was certified on December 8, just two days before Ayinde signed it, calling it “pre-signed,” and emphasized that Oduneye lacked the authority to certify lineage documents.
