– In a powerful and deeply personal address aimed at reshaping the political landscape of Oyo State ahead of the 2027 governorship election, frontline politician and former All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, popularly known as AKK, has made a passionate, brotherly appeal to all aggrieved aspirants and party members to sheathe their swords and unite to reclaim the Agodi Government House.

​Dr. Kareem also seized the opportunity to firmly debunk “malicious lies” and baseless rumors circulating within the state, which claimed he accepted a bribe of ₦100 million to step down for the party’s primary election winner and official flag-bearer, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD.

​Describing the allegations as a complete “no-brainer” fabricated by merchants of discord, AKK revealed that his cumulative financial investments in politics have comfortably crossed the ₦1 billion mark. He emphasized that his decision to withdraw from the race was never financial, but rather born out of pure progressive principles, profound respect for party leadership, and a deep conviction that Senator Alli shares his exact passion and vision for the development of Oyo State.

​”The primary election has come and gone, and our immediate, sacred duty now is to shift our focus toward rallying round to build the party, merge our formidable political structures, and build an atmosphere of genuine love and unity,” Dr. Kareem stated on Tuesday.

​Showering encomiums on the APC gubernatorial candidate, AKK described Senator Sharafadeen Alli as an “exceptional bridge-builder, a leader of profound vision, and a statesman” who runs an inclusive system where every divergent interest will be fiercely protected and valued. He assured his fellow co-aspirants that aligning with Senator Alli does not mean losing their identities, but rather fortifying a common fortress to present a rich, progressive manifesto to the electorate.
