In a raw and emotionally charged exposé, Nollywood star and producer Iyabo Ojo has finally pulled back the curtain on the “cold war” currently freezing relations between two of the industry’s biggest titans: Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham.

Under the poignant mantra, “The sky is big enough for all,” Ojo addressed the “unprintable names” she has been called by fans, choosing to set the record straight once and for all regarding her role as a mediator—and why that role has officially come to an end.

According to Ojo, the brief moments of public harmony seen between Akindele and Abraham months ago were not accidental. They were the result of an intense, behind-the-scenes intervention where Ojo admitted to “crying and kneeling” to beg both parties to embrace peace.

However, this truce came with a strict, off-camera condition: No more online shading. > “They both promised to address [issues] off camera, but unfortunately, December came,” Ojo revealed.

The actress noted that the “fresh beef” was sparked when Abraham voiced complaints about movie sabotage in cinemas—a move that led fans to point fingers at Akindele, effectively shattering the fragile non-aggression pact.

Clarifying rumors surrounding her own upcoming blockbuster, The Return of Arinzo, Ojo confirmed that Toyin Abraham was originally part of the project. However, a “last-minute” withdrawal by Abraham—citing exhaustion and travel—forced Ojo into an expensive and stressful script rewrite to meet the April 3rd cinema deadline.

While the two have since made up regarding the production hiccup, the larger industry rift remains unresolved.

In a final, weary dismissal of the drama, Ojo signaled that she is stepping back from the crossfire. Reflecting on her own past mistakes—including a time she publicly “dragged” Akindele—she admitted she should have handled things better but maintains that she has done her part.

“I have tried my best, but at this point, I can’t beg anyone anymore. I honestly don’t want to get involved anymore,” Ojo stated.

As the industry prepares for the nationwide release of The Return of Arinzo this Friday, the “Queen Mother” is making one thing clear: her focus is now on the box office, not the battlefield. Whether Akindele and Abraham can find space in the “big sky” together remains a question only they can answer.
