The dark side of social media monetization has just hit a new low, and media firebrand Do2dtun is not having any of it. The popular hypeman and broadcaster has launched a blistering attack on a social media user who fabricated a “disgusting” story claiming that Adekunle Gold and Simi’s six-year-old daughter, Deja, had passed away. The fake post, which surfaced on Sunday, March 8, 2026, claimed the young girl died from a rare condition called Canavan disease. It even featured a photoshopped screenshot of Adekunle Gold’s Instagram page to make the tragedy look official. Do2dtun, known for his “no-nonsense” approach, identified the motive behind the cruel hoax immediately: X (formerly Twitter) ad revenue. Under the current payment model, high engagement leads to bigger payouts, leading some users to chase “blood money” through viral lies. “All for Elon money, right? Not all engagement brings peace. This one will choke you,” Do2dtun fumed. “What sort of nonsense is this? How do you even have the audacity to do this all for engagement?” The post, shared by a user identified as @boutmoneey12, stayed up despite a massive public outcry and official community notes on X flagging it as misinformation. As the hunt for “clout” becomes more desperate, Do2dtun’s reaction serves as a stern warning to those willing to trade their humanity for a few dollars in ad revenue. In his words, this particular lie is a bridge too far—and it’s one that might just “choke” the person who started it.
