The gloves are officially off in the bitter financial feud between the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their former lead counsel, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor. In a move that has sent shockwaves through the legal community, IPOB’s Directorate of Finance has released “irrefutable proof” to debunk Ejiofor’s claims that he worked for free.

Despite the lawyer’s insistence that his services for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu were pro bono (free of charge), IPOB’s finance head, Madam Nnennaya Anya, has gone nuclear—releasing wire transfer details involving thousands of dollars.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, Madam Anya released a statement titled “Further clarification on financial transaction,” specifically detailing a $19,000 USD transfer made shortly after Nnamdi Kanu’s extraordinary rendition from Kenya in 2021.

“The funds were wired… directly into Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor’s USD domiciliary account,” Anya stated, even highlighting the $50 wire fee as proof of the transaction’s authenticity.

IPOB insists this isn’t just a smear campaign but a quest for transparency and accountability. Madam Anya emphasized that the $19,000 transfer was done under the “direct instruction” of Nnamdi Kanu himself.

As of this report, Barrister Ejiofor has not yet responded to this specific “receipt,” but his previous stance remains firm: he claims he never asked for, nor received, professional fees for the high-profile case.
