Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday recently shared her experience of being offered a controversial script early in her Nollywood career, which included a scene involving sleeping with a dog. During an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, she explained that she turned down the role because she wanted to prioritize her image and career prospects in the long run.
Nkechi stated, “Despite being a newcomer, I received a script that required me to sleep with a dog. I rejected it because I didn’t want to start my career that way. Imagine if my first movie had me in such a compromising situation; it just wouldn’t make sense. It would become a label, and people would forever associate me with that role. I didn’t want to be known as the actress who sleeps with dogs in movies.”
She added, “As soon as I turned it down, many other girls took the script, but I’m not sure if any of them are still in the limelight today.
