A woman, who has yet to be fully identified, was found dead in a hotel in Ore, the headquarters of the Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State, after lodging there with her lover.
Sources report that the woman and her lover, Sodiq Ganiyu, spent the night at the hotel. However, when hotel staff entered the room on Wednesday afternoon, they discovered the woman lifeless on the bed.
“The two were seen together earlier in the day, but when the staff gained access to the room, the woman was found unresponsive,” a source stated.
It is alleged that Mr. Ganiyu fled the scene shortly after the discovery, leaving no immediate clues regarding his whereabouts. A security source confirmed the incident, noting that the woman’s body has been taken to the Ore morgue. Preliminary examinations showed no external injuries, but a full autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Police Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the incident on Thursday and stated that efforts are currently underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
A similar incident occurred in June when a sex worker died in a brothel in the Cathedral area of Akure after a fight with a customer over a fee of N15,000. Reports indicated that the customer, dissatisfied with the service, demanded a refund, leading to an argument that ultimately resulted in her death
