Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has outlined the comprehensive measures the Oyo State government has implemented to address the pressing security challenges currently affecting Nigeria.
During a budget presentation at the Oyo State House of Assembly today, Governor Makinde emphasized the state’s preparedness to address any security issues that may arise from the ongoing national crisis.
“In Oyo State, we will not resort to knee-jerk reactions regarding security matters,” the governor stated. “We have developed a robust security architecture capable of addressing existing and evolving threats. This proactive approach allows us to anticipate potential future challenges and ensures that our security framework is equipped to tackle them effectively.”
Governor Makinde also discussed the recent acquisition of two state-of-the-art aircraft, which he believes will significantly enhance the state’s security capabilities. “These aircraft are brand new, and we are fully committed to maximizing their utility. When the planes arrived in Oyo State, we demonstrated their effectiveness by showcasing our ability to monitor activities from a substantial distance. For instance, from Iwajowa, one can observe minute details, such as the license plates of vehicles on the roads. This level of surveillance allows us to maintain a higher degree of security oversight and intervention.”
With these developments, Governor Makinde aims to set a new benchmark for security governance in Oyo State, ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens in the face of dynamic security challenges.
