“Anointing Is Not Enough”: Woli Arole Hails Pastor Adeboye’s Humility at Anglican Church Service

Popular comedian and preacher, Oluwatoyin Bayegun, famously known as Woli Arole, has sparked conversations online after publicly praising the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, for his display of humility during a recent outing.

In a viral reaction shared via his Instagram page on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Arole urged a new generation of “young ministers” to take cues from the veteran clergyman’s character and respect for tradition.

The tribute followed a video of Pastor Adeboye attending a church service held in honor of the birthday of former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. Despite his global standing, Adeboye was seen bowing to honor the liturgical traditions and sacredness of the Anglican Church where the program took place.

Reacting to the gesture, Arole noted that the “famous man of God” demonstrated that spiritual gifts do not replace the need for proper conduct.

“My love and respect for Daddy GO is out of this world. A lot of young ministers need to learn from MEN like this,” Arole wrote. He stressed that while spiritual power is important, it must be matched by a sense of order and respect for others.

The preacher-comedian further stated:

“Listen to me: ‘Anointing is not enough.’ A generation must learn CHARACTER, ORDER, and HUMILITY. Long live Pastor EA Adeboye!!!!!!”

This is not the first time Arole has used his platform to celebrate spiritual mentors and icons. The entertainer has previously penned heartfelt tributes to Pastor Adeboye on his 78th birthday and frequently shares his admiration for gospel singer Tope Alabi and her husband, Soji, whom he credits for providing him with invaluable life advice.

Beyond entertainment and tributes, Arole has recently been in the spotlight for his philanthropic efforts in Ibadan, where he expressed a desire to facilitate the release of hundreds of inmates awaiting trial at the Agodi prison after being moved by the dire conditions of over 1,000 detainees during an outreach.
