On this special occasion of Teachers’ Day, Hon. Dr. Demilade Akin-Alabi joins millions of Nigerians in celebrating the men and women whose dedication, sacrifice and patience continue to shape the destiny of our children and the future of our nation. Teachers are more than instructors in the classroom. They are builders of dreams, moulders of character, discoverers of talents and torchbearers of hope. Behind every successful professional, responsible citizen and great leader is a teacher who once believed in that person’s potential. Dr. Akin-Alabi deeply appreciates the teachers who continue to give their best, even when their efforts are not always seen, recognised or adequately rewarded. Their daily sacrifices, encouraging words and countless hours spent preparing young minds represent an investment in humanity that can never be measured in monetary terms. “A teacher may never know how far a single lesson, a word of encouragement or an act of patience may travel in the life of a child. Long after the classroom is forgotten, the lessons remain. That is the power and beauty of teaching.” He therefore calls for greater recognition, improved welfare and stronger support for teachers, stressing that no nation can build a prosperous and sustainable future while neglecting those entrusted with educating its future generation. As we celebrate our teachers today, Dr. Akin-Alabi salutes every teacher who wakes up each morning with a renewed commitment to make a difference. May God Almighty continue to strengthen their hearts, bless their families, reward their sacrifices and grant them the grace to witness the fruits of the lives they have helped to transform. To every teacher: we see you, we appreciate you, we honour you. Your work matters. Your sacrifice matters. Your impact will outlive you. Happy Teachers’ Day ! Thank you for shaping minds, building character and lighting the path to a better tomorrow.
