Weeks after the tragic passing of prominent gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu, his twin brother and musical partner, Kehinde Adegbodu, has broken his silence, revealing that he is still in deep shock and denial over the devastating loss.

Speaking during a recent interview with actress Biola Bayo, Kehinde disclosed that he is yet to come to terms with the reality of his brother’s demise, as he still feels his physical presence. The grieving singer confessed that he sees Taiwo beside him at every event and frequently visits his graveside alongside their band members to converse with him. Highlighting their deep bond, he noted that they got married on the exact same day and welcomed all their children in the same month, making the sudden separation extremely difficult to process.

In a shocking revelation, Kehinde disclosed that he recently received a troubling death prophecy. According to the gospel artiste, an individual called to warn him to pray fervently so he would not suffer a sudden death like his twin. Recounting the events leading to the tragedy, Kehinde stated that Taiwo was very active and healthy on the day he died, making the entire incident feel like a terrible dream. He expressed his bewilderment that none of their spiritual mentors and clerics foresaw the tragedy, adding that he is currently relying entirely on God for the strength to navigate the profound trauma.

The Nigerian gospel music and entertainment industries were thrown into heavy mourning in March when the news of Taiwo’s sudden passing broke. Prominent figures including Yinka Ayefele, Woli Arole, and veteran actor Muyiwa Ademola publicly expressed their grief. Ademola described the deceased as one of the biggest talents he had ever known, while Ayefele was seen weeping uncontrollably during a condolence visit to the family.

The late singer was laid to rest early in April following an emotional wake-keep and service of songs attended by Nollywood stars, friends, and fans. However, the sorrow for the Adegbodu family was further compounded shortly after the burial, as Kehinde revealed that armed robbers attacked the deceased’s residence. While he was away during the incident, the assailants reportedly terrorised his late brother’s wife and children, carting away cash and valuables that were donated during the funeral ceremonies.
