Popular Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, has raised the alarm over the delayed payment of the N50 million cash prize promised to him after defeating singer Portable in their highly anticipated celebrity boxing match. The highly publicized bout, which took place at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, saw Carter Efe emerge victorious via a unanimous decision. Following his triumph, the streamer was crowned the winner, but he has now expressed frustration that the monetary reward has yet to reach his account. In a video shared across social media platforms, an emotional Carter Efe called out the event organizers over the delay, lamenting the physical toll the fight took on him. “Dem never give me my money oo. I never see N50 million ooo. I nearly die for that fight, I never see the N50 million. Make dem pay me the N50 oo,” the streamer lamented. The delay comes amidst allegations made by Portable that the fight was scripted. Following his defeat, Portable alleged that the match judges declared Carter Efe the winner to prevent a payout of up to N23 billion to bettors who had staked their money on the singer. Despite the initial delay, music executive Soso Soberekon and businessman E-Money have stepped in to ensure the reward is delivered, with the cash handover scheduled to take place at E-Money’s residence on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
