DJ Kulet Reveals Secret Past as a Sex Worker

In a disclosure that has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian entertainment scene, popular Fuji disc jockey Kudirat Gbemisola, famously known as DJ Kulet, has stunned fans by revealing her past life as a sex worker in Lagos. The celebrity DJ, known for her high-energy sets and dominance in the Fuji-fusion genre, shared the deeply personal story during an emotional church testimony on Sunday.

DJ Kulet detailed a harrowing period of her life spent in the Lawanson area of Surulere, where she struggled with homelessness and extreme poverty. She admitted that before finding fame and professional stability behind the turntables, she relied on prostitution to survive the harsh realities of the Lagos streets.

The revelation was met with a mixture of shock and admiration from her vast fanbase, as she described the stark contrast between her former life and her current status. She recounted living in “face-me-I-face-you” apartments and enduring houses without basic sanitary facilities for years, even while she was beginning to make a name for herself in the music industry.

”I just want to say thank you Jesus because my story here in Surulere was a very bad one,” she stated in a video that has since gone viral. “Everybody knows me because I grew up in Lawanson. But I repented, and God removed me from the gutter.”

The testimony reached a climax when the DJ announced that she had recently purchased her own home in the very same Surulere neighborhood where she once roamed the streets. She emphasized that the property was paid for in full using legitimate earnings from her DJ career, marking a definitive victory over her past.

By choosing to go public with her history of sex work and survival, DJ Kulet has sparked a wider conversation about redemption and the hidden struggles of many in the spotlight. While the news initially stunned the industry, the narrative has quickly shifted toward her resilience, with many praising her for the courage to turn what she calls her “mess” into a powerful message of hope.
