CONTROVERSIAL social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has vowed to proceed with his legal battle against cryptocurrency mogul, Linus Williams, also known as BLord, despite interventions from human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore. VDM, who has been at the forefront of the petition leading to BLord’s recent police invitation and detention, made this known in a viral video where he addressed the “interference” of senior activists in the matter. According to him, the move to seek an administrative end to the case by Sowore is an attempt to undermine the judicial process. VDM insisted that no amount of external pressure would compel him to drop the charges of alleged impersonation and identity theft against the businessman. “I am not going to withdraw this case against BLord because of Sowore. I want to show Omoyele Sowore that he cannot discontinue this case,” VDM stated defiantly. He further argued that while he respects Sowore’s pedigree in the struggle for human rights, the activist “cannot play the role of a judge” in a criminal matter already under investigation. “He doesn’t have the power he thinks he has over this matter. I am staying on this case until the very end to prove a point,” the critic added. The friction between the two social commentators has split opinions online, with some praising VDM for his tenacity, while others view Sowore’s intervention as a necessary check against the “weaponisation” of law enforcement in civil disputes. As of the time of this report, Omoyele Sowore has not issued a formal rebuttal to VDM’s latest outburst, though he had previously called for the protection of BLord’s fundamental rights during his stay in custody.
