Omo, things are really happening in the industry o! Our very own screen diva and producer, Wumi Toriola, has taken to social media to drop a serious disclaimer for anyone expecting too much from her right now. In a post that she later deleted, the actress opened up about the heavy pressure she’s been feeling, even joking that she’s currently in her “A lot” period.

Wumi didn’t hold back at all, confessing that her latest movie on her YouTube channel, Wumi Toriola Prime, hasn’t been pulling the kind of numbers she expected. She sounded quite overwhelmed, telling fans that if they see her acting out of character or just “passing things by,” they should understand she’s just trying to keep her head above water. In her classic witty style, she mentioned that even though things are tough, her “coconut head” simply won’t let her give up, but she still needed to warn people to back off with the high expectations. She even threw a spicy jab, asking critics if they were currently in their mother-in-law’s house boiling offal!

This isn’t the first time Wumi is keeping it 100% real with her audience. You’ll recall how she previously shut down the idea that celebrities should just keep quiet when being bullied. She made it clear that fame doesn’t turn humans into robots; they bleed and feel pain just like anyone else, and silence is often just a wounded person trying to stay composed.

She’s also been on a mission to fix the industry from the inside. Not too long ago, she dragged nonchalant Production Managers in the Yoruba movie scene for the way they treat cast and crew, sharing a bitter experience she had on set just to warn her colleagues. Even her roles have been a point of concern! The mother of one recently cried out that producers are giving her too many violent roles, joking that all that “gragra” on screen might actually be scaring away potential suitors and affecting her search for love.

To top it all off, she recently took a swipe at the “Godfather” culture in Nollywood. Wumi warned that having a godfather or godmother can be a double-edged sword, noting that these people often block genuine helpers, cancel opportunities, and breed unnecessary hate for their proteges. It’s clear Wumi is in a season of speaking her truth, and she’s making sure everyone hears her loud and clear!
