2027: I’m Not Running For Rivers Governor” — NDDC’s Boma Iyaye Clears The Air

The word on the street was that Boma Iyaye, the big man in charge of Finance and Administration at the NDDC, is already eyeing the Rivers State Government House for 2027. People were even saying he’s got the full backing of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. But hold your horses—Iyaye has come out to shut down the rumors completely.

In a fresh statement, Iyaye made it clear that all those social media posts claiming he’s declared interest in the governorship race are 100% false. Even though everyone knows he’s a solid ally of Wike, he insists there hasn’t been any secret endorsement or political backing from the Minister or anyone else for that matter.

According to him, he’s not distracted by 2027 politics because his eyes are strictly on the ball at the NDDC. He says his main priority right now is working with the commission’s leadership to actually deliver development to the Niger Delta people. While he took a moment to give Wike his flowers for his leadership style and service, he told the public and the media to stop “carrying talk” without verifying the facts first.
