The atmosphere at the residence of popular Nollywood actress, Toyosi Adesanya, was charged with raw emotion on Saturday as her husband, Bola Oyinadejobi, broke down in tears during the naming ceremony of their first child. In a testimony that moved guests to tears, Oyinadejobi declared that the arrival of the baby girl was a divine intervention intended to “shut the mouths of hypocrisy” and silence those who had mocked the couple during their nearly two-decade-long struggle for a child. Addressing the gathering of family, friends, and Nollywood heavyweights, the emotional father revealed that the miracle was preceded by a harrowing battle with death. According to him, the actress underwent four major surgeries in 2023 alone, with the final procedure nearly claiming her life. “I give glory to God because the journey was not easy,” Oyinadejobi sobbed. “Many didn’t know that in 2023, my wife underwent four surgeries and almost died during the last one. God is so kind; He shut the mouths of hypocrisy when they thought it was over.” The couple’s journey to parenthood, which began in 2008, was described as a grueling test of resilience. Gistlife report that the actress had previously recounted the physical and financial toll of her quest, including multiple failed Invitro Fertilisation (IVF) procedures, laparoscopy, and dye tests. To fund the mounting medical bills over the years, Toyosi reportedly sold her gold jewelry and emptied the proceeds from her business. In a touching revelation, she noted that despite the high-profile nature of her career, she was financially “down” on the day the baby finally arrived, praising veteran actress Fausat Balogun (Sade Olaiya) for standing by her. The naming ceremony saw a massive turnout from the Yoruba movie industry, turning the event into a celebration of faith. Stars such as Odunlade Adekola, Antar Laniyan, Bimbo Oshin, and Peju Ogunmola were present to witness the testimony. One of the highlights of the event was the gesture from popular actor Muyiwa Ademola, who reportedly made the first financial deposit of N200,000 into the newborn’s bank account to kickstart her future. The actress, who welcomed the child via surrogacy, expressed her profound gratitude to her husband for his unwavering support throughout the 16-year wait, noting that his faith was the anchor that kept them going when medical reports were bleak.
