The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has publicly declared his admiration for popular TikTok content creators, Peller and Jarvis.

The monarch made the unexpected confession on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, when the duo paid a courtesy visit to the ancient palace in Oyo town as part of Peller’s ongoing national tour.

In a viral video capturing the moment, the 46th Alaafin revealed that he is not only aware of their content but is a dedicated follower who keeps their clips on his mobile device.

Expressing his delight at their visit, the traditional ruler stated that their presence at the palace was a testament to their respect for the Yoruba heritage and the throne of Oyo.

He said, “Peller and Jarvis, I’m a very big fan of both of you. I watch your videos well, and I have a number of your clips on my phone. Your coming around today is just a way to say you are one of the people who love the Alaafin, Oyo, and the Yoruba.”

Following his remarks, the monarch proceeded to shower the streamers with royal blessings in the Yoruba language, praying for their continued success in the digital space.

The reception in Oyo comes on the heels of a controversial outing in Benin City, where the Benin Traditional Council reportedly distanced itself from an unauthorized visit by Peller to the palace of the Oba of Benin. Jarvis has since issued a public apology to the Benin monarch on behalf of the team.

However, the Alaafin’s warm reception has triggered mixed reactions on social media. While many fans praised the monarch for being “tech-savvy” and relatable, some critics questioned the timing of the royal endorsement amid rising security concerns in the state.

Conversely, supporters of the TikTok stars described the visit as a “big win,” noting that the creators are now “dining with kings.”
