OSIMHEN REVEALS SHOCKING SNUB BY SUPER EAGLES LEGEND

The year was 2017. Victor Osimhen was a skinny, wide-eyed teenager arriving at his first Super Eagles camp with nothing but a dream and a massive amount of respect for his idols. Fast forward to 2026, and the Galatasaray talisman is finally spilling the tea on a “welcome” he’ll never forget.

In a candid, late-night Twitch stream with comedian Carter Efe, the reigning African icon revealed that his first steps into the national team weren’t exactly paved with gold. In fact, he was literally shown the door.

Eager to please, a young Osimhen approached Kelechi Iheanacho, offering to be his “boot-carrier”—a traditional sign of respect from a rookie to a senior star. Iheanacho, playing the role of the “Senior Man” even back then, kindly invited the kid to his hotel room to hang out.

But the hospitality ended at the doorframe.

“As I knocked on the door, the roommate opened it. He just… bounced me out of the room.” — Victor Osimhen

While Osimhen laughed about it now as a 27-year-old superstar, he pointedly refused to name names. The veteran player apparently had no time for the “new kid” and sent him packing before he could even step inside.

The snub didn’t last long, however. Iheanacho—who Osimhen credits for his warmth—intervened to make sure the future Napoli legend felt at home.

This revelation has sent social media into a frenzy of speculation. In 2017, the Super Eagles squad was packed with veterans. Fans are already playing detective, trying to figure out who was sharing a room with “Seniorman Kelz” during that era.

Was it a case of “rookie hazing,” or a genuine clash of egos? Whatever it was, the player who “bounced” Osimhen probably didn’t realize they were slamming the door on a man who would eventually become An African Footballer of the Year.
