Popular media personality and actress, Bisola Aiyeola, has shared a deeply emotional account of the turmoil she faced after discovering she would become a single mother.

In a recent interview, the 40-year-old star revealed that the news of her pregnancy came as a “shattering shock,” plunging her into a season of intense shame and fear.

Bisola disclosed that her situation was particularly painful because she was not just in a casual relationship at the time. According to her, she was officially engaged and had fully expected to walk down the aisle before starting a family.

“I was scared and ashamed of being pregnant and having a baby out of wedlock. I thought I was going to get married because I was engaged at that time, but we never got married,” she recalled.

The collapse of the engagement left her facing the social stigma of an unplanned pregnancy alone, a reality she found “difficult to process.”

The actress further explained that her distress was rooted in her family history. Having been raised by a single mother herself, Bisola feared she was falling into a “recurring pattern” that would negatively impact her daughter’s future.

“It was so shameful because my mum was a single mum and I am about to become one. I feared my child might also have the same fate,” the actress lamented.

Beyond the emotional weight, Bisola touched on the “economic struggles” her family faced at the time. She described the period of breastfeeding her newborn as a time of significant distress due to financial instability.

However, she noted that with the passage of time, she moved from a place of shame to one of deep appreciation. She eventually embraced her journey, stating that she grew to cherish her daughter immensely, regardless of the circumstances surrounding her birth.
