The internal “roshere” rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may be heading for a ceasefire if the party’s power players heed the words of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Following a high-stakes Court of Appeal ruling regarding the party’s national convention, the Kogi Central Senator is sounding the alarm: “Drop the legal swords and pick up the olive branch.” In a bold statement released on Tuesday, the lawmaker warned that the PDP’s obsession with the courtroom is a ticking time bomb for their 2027 ambitions.

Through her media aide, Mike Idoko, Senator Natasha made it clear that while legal battles are being fought in Abuja, the hopes of loyal party members across Nigeria are being “undermined.” She argued that no party can win a national war while its generals are busy suing each other in the barracks.

“The Court of Appeal has spoken… we must now shift our focus from litigation to reconciliation and rebuilding. Our strength lies in unity, not in the number of lawsuits we file,” the Senator declared.

With the 2027 General Elections already looming on the horizon, Natasha’s message was a reality check. She reminded the PDP leadership that a political party’s primary job is to win elections and provide leadership, not to serve as a permanent fixture on court cause lists.

Natasha warned that the PDP must remain an “inclusive platform” for those who want to serve. She urged stakeholders to adopt maturity and compromise, noting that the survival of Nigeria’s main opposition party depends on its ability to stop fighting itself and start preparing for the polls.
