The Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has officially waded into the legal storm between the Department of State Services (DSS) and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, issuing a stern “Red Card” to the latter.
In a powerful statement made available to journalists, the spiritual leader expressed his displeasure over Sowore’s labeling of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “criminal,” an act that has led to ongoing litigation.

While acknowledging the frustration many Nigerians feel regarding the country’s current economic realities, Maharaj Ji maintained that the Office of the President must be held sacred. He urged Sowore to recognize the clear distinction between “Bola Ahmed Tinubu” the individual and the “President of the Federal Republic.”
”So long as Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains President of Nigeria, the office he occupies transcends whatever facts of his past and personality that either angers or excites whoever, however!” Maharaj Ji stated.

In a bold take, the spiritual head argued that insulting the President is a direct insult to the nation itself. He likened Sowore’s words to splashing “excreta” on the collective body of Nigeria, suggesting that by calling the leader a criminal, the activist is indirectly labeling all citizens as such.

Maharaj Ji further took a swipe at “European-style” activism, urging Nigerians to return to their cultural roots of respecting authority.
Cultural Decorum: He noted that as Africans, there are traditional ways to address grievances without “plunging the community into chaos.”
Choice of Words: He cautioned against using derogatory labels like “rogue” or “stupid,” insisting that grievances can be aired without being abusive.

Offering a solution to the legal standoff, Satguru Maharaj Ji proposed that the case against Sowore be withdrawn, but only on one condition: A formal apology.

Apology to the Nation: Sowore must tender an apology to the President and the Nigerian people for his choice of words.
Withdrawal of Charges: If an apology is rendered, Maharaj Ji called for the DSS to withdraw the case.
The Ultimatum: Failure to apologize, he warned, should see Sowore treated as a “rebel or terrorist” until he can prove his claims in court.

“Wait until his tenure expires,” Maharaj Ji advised Sowore, noting that the activist would be free to use any labels he chooses once the President returns to life as a regular citizen.
