Nollywood’s favorite “controversialist,” Daddy Freeze, has set social media on fire after claiming that men must ejaculate at least 21 times every month to avoid the risk of prostate cancer.

Speaking during a high-energy livestream with content creator Cater Efe, the media veteran made it clear that while he isn’t a fan of masturbation, he believes the numbers don’t lie.

“I won’t encourage masturbation, but if a man doesn’t ejaculate up to 21 times monthly, he could be setting himself up for possible prostate cancer,” Freeze declared.

Is Daddy Freeze just talking, or is there a doctor in the house? As it turns out, he’s actually referencing a famous Harvard study that followed 32,000 men for 18 years.

The internet didn’t take the “21-times rule” lightly. While some men jokingly tagged their partners to “help save their lives,” medical experts on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to add some much-needed context.

Pharm. Greatman noted: “There is no fixed number that guarantees protection… this is an association, not a rule or treatment.” Another user, Rhine_sto, added: “Turning nuanced research into a numeric command is how misinformation spreads.”

While Daddy Freeze might be right about the study, health experts agree that 21 isn’t a magic shield. The best way to protect your prostate remains a healthy diet, regular exercise, and getting screened once you hit your 40s or 50s.
