A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and 2027 governorship hopeful in Oyo State, Barrister Chief Niyi Aborisade, has felicitated with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas.

Aborisade, a UK-based legal practitioner and Ibadan chief, described the development as a “round peg in a round hole,” noting that the monarch’s ascension to the leadership of the council is a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional wisdom, administrative prowess, and track record in public service.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Friday, the governorship aspirant noted that Oba Ladoja’s elevation comes at a pivotal moment when the traditional institution in Yorubaland requires experienced hands to foster peace, unity, and moral rearmament amidst prevailing socio-economic challenges.

He expressed confidence that the reign of the seasoned statesman as the Council Chairman would herald a new era of harmony and constructive dialogue among traditional rulers across the state.

The statement read in part: “Your wisdom and experience of life have clearly distinguished you for greater responsibilities. This is a period when our land needs calm, mature, and principled leadership within the traditional institution, and Your Imperial Majesty embodies these qualities.

“I am confident that your leadership will inspire confidence among traditional rulers and the citizenry, while further strengthening the bond of cooperation among monarchs across Oyo State and the Yoruba nation at large.”

Aborisade, while praying for divine guidance for the monarch, urged Oba Ladoja to continue serving as a beacon of dignity and unity for Ibadanland and Oyo State.

“May your reign be peaceful, impactful, and memorable,” he prayed.
