Just when we thought the drama was cooling down, Nollywood actress Ashabi Simple has stirred the pot again. While her “husband,” controversial singer Portable, sits in custody, Ashabi has taken to Instagram to address her haters—and she came with receipts!

Ashabi posted a sweet, loved-up video of herself and the Zazu crooner, revealing that this footage was taken on the very same night “the devil carried gun”—just moments before their explosive fallout that led to Portable’s arrest.

Clapping back at critics who have been dragging her for arresting her baby daddy, she made it clear she doesn’t care about public opinion anymore. She also threw shade at Portable’s claim that he was innocent and “asleep” when the chaos started.

In her words:

“Make una believe anything una like oooooo, but my own believe be dat ogun lo ma n sini mu… dis is d video I made that night b4 Devil carry gun ooooo. Wey baba say he Dey sleep dem call him say I don scatter bar. Olorun ku suuru.”

Recall that the internet went wild on Tuesday when news broke that Ashabi had arrested Portable. The singer was arraigned at a High Court in Onipanu on serious charges including assault and resisting arrest.

The court heard that Portable allegedly attacked Ashabi and even obstructed a female police officer, Inspector Ogungbe Olayemi. Consequently, the Idamu Adugbo has been remanded in custody until January 19, when his bail application will be heard.

The trouble reportedly started on New Year’s Day. While Portable claimed Ashabi came to his house to attack his pregnant wife and “scatter his bar,” Ashabi insisted she only went to celebrate with him. She alleged that the singer turned violent, slapped her and her siblings, and even threatened them with an axe.

For now, Ashabi says she is protecting her peace and thinking for herself, regardless of the “advice” from online in-laws.
