The Founder of One Love family, Satguru Maharaj Ji has renewed his call on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to appoint a Nigerian as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles, describing the move as imperative for the future success of the national team.
In a press release made available to journalists, Satguru Maharaj Ji emphasized that his persistent advocacy for a Nigerian coach is not driven by emotions or sentiments, but by what he described as deeper spiritual and cosmic considerations shaping global leadership and progress.
He stated that the world is undergoing a significant reset, which he believes favors the Black race and places Nigeria at the center of a new global order.
According to him, this shift signifies the end of European dominance and the restoration of Africa’s prominence, with Nigeria serving as the spiritual and geographical hub of this transformation.
The One Love family founder argued that success in any field, including sports, is rooted in spiritual foundations, adding that no true progress or glory can occur without divine or cosmic predetermination.
He maintained that Nigeria currently occupies a unique spiritual position that should be harnessed for national development, including football.
Satguru Maharaj Ji further asserted that divine grace is presently concentrated in Nigeria and that institutions such as the NFF should recognize and embrace this reality if they desire the Super Eagles to excel at the highest levels of international football.
He criticized the continued reliance on European coaches, claiming that Europe’s era of dominance has ended and that lingering influence is sustained through what he described as manipulation and exploitation of vulnerable nations. He urged the NFF to resist what he termed outdated external influence.
The spiritual leader insisted that any Nigerian appointed as head coach must be given the same salary, benefits, and institutional support previously accorded to foreign coaches, stressing that fairness and confidence in local capacity are essential.
He also cautioned against the frequent dismissal of coaches, stating that a Nigerian coach should be allowed to grow into the role without fear of premature sack, noting that every new era naturally comes with initial challenges.
Satguru Maharaj Ji listed former Super Eagles stars such as Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha, Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Amunike, and Fanny Amun as potential candidates, while reiterating his belief that the nationality of the coach, rather than external pedigree, is the decisive factor for success.
Concluding his statement, he warned that failure to heed his advice could have consequences for the NFF leadership, while expressing hope that the federation would act differently this time.
He ended the release with a message of goodwill, calling for national unity and progress, and declaring blessings upon the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
