Great qualities may remain hidden for a while, but they eventually shine through. It is often said that behind every successful man is a supportive woman. Although Chief Mrs. Fatima Florence Ajimobi’s husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has passed away, she continues to uphold his legacy as a remarkable figure.
During her time as First Lady of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, Mrs. Ajimobi made significant contributions, supporting her husband’s three-point agenda of Restoration, Transformation, and Repositioning. Through initiatives like the Ajumose Food Basket, which provides monthly food aid, and the Access to Basic Medical Care (ABC Foundation), recognized as the Most Outstanding NGO in the Southwest, she positively impacted all 33 local government areas.

Her intellect and vision led to the establishment of the Oyo State Officials’ Wives Association (OYSOWA), which has transformed into an influential platform for discussing women’s development. The annual conference she introduced has attracted delegates, including notable leaders from Africa, fostering progress and recognition for women’s contributions.
Furthermore, Oyo State has a history of exceptional First Ladies, each leaving a mark on society. Mrs. Ajimobi’s innovative approach and dedication set a high standard that will inspire future First Ladies. Congratulations to her on the recent nomination as an Ambassador of Nigeria; her legacy continues to thrive
