Former Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni believes there is nothing wrong with Arsenal relying on set pieces to secure victories. The Gunners have faced criticism for their reliance on set pieces and long balls this season, with half of their 24 goals coming from such situations.

Currently, Arsenal leads both the Premier League and Champions League tables. Yakubu emphasized that a team’s style of play ultimately depends on the manager’s strategy. “It doesn’t matter how you win your games; you must find a way to win,” he stated. He recalled how, in the past, teams would face challenges at places like Stoke City, where Rory Delap was known for his long throw-ins, highlighting that effective tactics can vary over time.
