Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has questioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s ability to govern Nigeria, citing his failures to stabilize the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In an appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Oshiomhole made these comments shortly after Atiku announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Oshiomhole criticized Atiku for his lack of leadership within the opposition, stating, “If Atiku, as former vice president under PDP, couldn’t fix the PDP, how can he claim he can fix Nigeria?”
He also noted Atiku’s earlier departure from the APC, claiming he left because he lost the presidential ticket. Oshiomhole remarked, “If Atiku can’t build the PDP that made him Vice President, he can’t fix Nigeria.”
Atiku’s defection follows his resignation from the PDP in July after internal crises.
