This move is unveiling a comprehensive grassroots intervention programme aimed at tackling poverty, improving healthcare, promoting education and empowering residents of Ibadan North-East Local Government Area of Oyo State. The foundation, which officially announced its flagship initiative, PAGAP (Palliative and Grassroots Action Against Poverty), is designed to provide sustainable support for vulnerable groups through a series of community-based programmes. Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Akin-Alabi said the foundation was established as part of his unwavering commitment to serving the people and creating lasting impact. According to him, the foundation will serve as a beacon of hope and the cornerstone of his engagement with the people by fostering meaningful partnerships and implementing transformative initiatives. “Our vision is to build stronger people and a brighter society where peace, progress, tranquillity, good health, opportunity and sustainable development thrive. Through this foundation, we are committed to empowering lives, uplifting communities and creating a future where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” he said. As part of the PAGAP initiative, the foundation unveiled four key intervention programmes. The first is a monthly medical outreach targeted at the elderly, children, nursing mothers, pregnant women and other vulnerable residents of Ibadan North-East. The second programme provides monthly palliative relief for elderly residents as part of efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship. The foundation also announced an Annual Asiwaju Leadership Sprint, a programme that will feature music auditioning, recognition of outstanding community catalysts and succession planning aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders from Ibadan North-East. In addition, beneficiaries will have access to DACOF Vocational Training and WAEC Boot Camps, designed to equip young people with vocational skills while improving students’ academic performance through intensive examination preparation. The foundation, with the slogan “Leadership That Works; Bring Back the Love,” said the programmes reflect its commitment to grassroots development, human capital advancement and sustainable community empowerment. Akin-Alabi expressed optimism that the initiative would complement government efforts in improving the welfare of residents while creating opportunities for long-term socio-economic development.
