Former Oyo State governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has described the appointment of Asiwaju (Barr.) Yemi Aderibigbe as the Director-General of the Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD Governorship Campaign Council as a strategic move that has strengthened the party’s chances of reclaiming the Agodi Government House in the 2027 governorship election.

Kareem, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said the appointment reflected the APC’s commitment to building a formidable, issue-driven campaign capable of returning the party to power in Oyo State.

He described Aderibigbe as an experienced political strategist, dependable leader and respected legal practitioner whose integrity, organisational competence and grassroots appeal make him well-suited for the responsibility.

According to him, the decision by Senator Alli to entrust the campaign structure to Aderibigbe demonstrates deliberate leadership focused on assembling competent hands with the capacity to mobilise party members and drive an inclusive campaign across the state.

“Barrister Yemi Aderibigbe is a man of proven integrity, uncommon loyalty and exceptional strategic capacity. His understanding of Oyo State’s political landscape and his ability to unite stakeholders make him the right choice to coordinate this important assignment,” Kareem stated.

The former governorship aspirant expressed confidence that the newly appointed Campaign Director-General would provide the leadership required to effectively communicate the APC’s vision to voters in every ward and polling unit across the state.

He also called on party members and support groups to close ranks behind the campaign council, stressing that unity, discipline and grassroots mobilisation would be critical to the party’s electoral success.

Kareem further assured that members of the AKK Aseyori Support Group would work with other stakeholders to ensure the APC records victory at the polls.

He maintained that the appointment marks a defining moment in the party’s preparations and demonstrates its readiness to offer what he described as a credible alternative for the people of Oyo State.
