2027: No PVC, No Voice In Governance-Fatola Tells Oyo Residents

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Opeyemi Fatola, has urged eligible voters in Oyo State to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), declaring that citizens without voter cards risk losing their voice in determining the nation’s future.

Fatola made the appeal in a statement issued through his media team on Tuesday, stressing that participation in the electoral process remains the foundation of democratic governance.

The PDP chieftain called on residents to visit the nearest local government secretariats to register and collect their PVCs ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the power to elect credible leaders and hold public office holders accountable rests solely with the electorate.

“Your PVC is your strength. Get your PVC so as to elect your leaders that will steer the affairs of government from the presidency to the local government level. Without your PVC, your voice cannot be heard in the democratic process,” Fatola said.

He maintained that the forthcoming elections present another opportunity for Nigerians to enthrone leaders committed to the welfare and development of the people.

Fatola further unveiled key aspects of his legislative agenda, promising quality representation, sustained community engagement and policies targeted at improving the living conditions of ordinary citizens.

He said his blueprint focuses on poverty alleviation, attracting government projects to grassroots communities and sponsoring people-oriented bills capable of delivering economic growth and social relief across the constituency.

The House of Representatives hopeful assured constituents that, if elected, he would prioritise their interests and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every part of Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency.

He therefore urged residents not to take the ongoing voter registration and collection exercise lightly, insisting that active participation remains the surest path to building a more prosperous Oyo State and Nigeria.
