FORMER Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a blistering attack on the David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing their recent national convention as a “pitiful” and “disorganised” assembly of desperate politicians. In a strongly worded statement released via his official X handle on Saturday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain mocked the conduct of the event, alleging that it lacked the credibility and decorum expected of a serious political party. Fani-Kayode painted a grim picture of the convention’s atmosphere, claiming that inadequate facilities left delegates in a state of physical and emotional distress. “I watched a faction of the ADC conducting what they described as their party convention a few days ago & it was pitiful. I saw an overcrowded hall filled with hot, sweaty, men & women,” he remarked. He further alleged that the gathering was marred by internal disunity, stating that attendees “sweated profusely, argued loudly amongst themselves, and broke into fisticuffs” due to poor coordination and a lack of functional air-conditioning. Highlighting what he described as an “awkward moment” of identity crisis, the former minister recounted an incident where an elderly participant mistakenly chanted the name of a rival party during his speech. “He took the microphone and screamed ‘APC’ before realising he was actually in an ADC Convention,” Fani-Kayode quipped, citing the gaffe as evidence of a party with “no sense of purpose, unity, or direction.” The former minister did not stop there, intensifying his rhetoric by comparing the attendees to scavengers. “What we witnessed was more of a gathering of hungry, ragged & desperate jackals & long-rejected souls that are craving for a return to power rather than the Convention of a legitimate & serious political party,” he stated. Echoing a previous sentiment by the Presidency, Fani-Kayode dismissed the event as a “street convention,” adding that it was a gathering of “vagabonds, riggers & wanderers” who pose no threat to the ruling party. He concluded his critique with a definitive verdict on the party’s future: “Bottom line? The ADC ain’t going nowhere!” Post navigation “Stop Wasting Your Votes”—Samson Fatola Warns PDP Electorate Ahead Of 2027 2027: Gbolarumi’s Political Survival Threatened as Makinde, Wike Alliance Deepens Oyo PDP Rift
