Operations have resumed at a major gas facility in Iraq’s Kurdistan region after more than a month of disruption linked to tensions between the US and Iran. Dana Gas, the Emirati company managing the site, confirmed that production is back at the Khor Mor gas facility following a period of intermittent shutdowns. The update was shared in a statement released via the Abu Dhabi stock exchange. The company had halted natural gas supplies on February 28 as conflict escalated, with authorities in the Kurdistan region citing safety concerns for workers amid the instability. Officials from the region’s electricity and natural resources ministries said the suspension was necessary due to “extraordinary circumstances” and ongoing developments at the time. Khor Mor plays a critical role in powering most of the Kurdistan region, making any disruption significant. The facility has also been a repeated target in recent years, with attacks often attributed to pro-Iran armed groups operating in Iraq.
