The long-standing frosty relationship between popular Yoruba actress, Motilola, and her former boss, Kunle Afod, has finally been laid to rest, following a high-level intervention by actor and producer, Femi Adebayo. Motilola, who made the revelation in a trending video interview described the resolution as a “huge relief,” praising Adebayo for his role as a peacemaker in an industry often fraught with “wahala” (trouble). Reflecting on the crisis that peaked in 2024, the mother of two admitted that the rift with someone she deeply respected was one of the most painful experiences of her career. She expressed regret over the public nature of the feud, which saw her calling out Kunle Afod and his wife, Desola, on Instagram. “The major conflict I had with someone I respect a lot was really painful for me. It degenerated to the point where I had to go on social media to call names… Somebody I respect a lot [Femi Adebayo] stepped up and told me to resolve it,” she said. Motilola noted that during the peace process, they discovered that “fifth columnists” were fueling the fire by feeding both parties with false information to sustain the animosity. Motilola, who previously beat a blackmailer to the punch by announcing her own divorce in 2021, maintained that she is now focused on her growth and her two children. She urged fans to stop shaming women over crashed marriages, noting that no woman enters a union with the intention of leaving. With the “Afod-Motilola” war now over, industry observers are praising Femi Adebayo for his leadership role in maintaining harmony among his colleagues.
