“I will never support a rapist!” Biola Bayo breaks down in tears

Popular Nollywood actress and talk show host, Biola Adebayo, better known as Biola Bayo, has finally succumbed to pressure following the heavy backlash that trailed her recent interview with convicted actor, Baba Ijesha.

The mother of one, who recently celebrated her son’s milestone, took to her Instagram page on Tuesday evening to share an emotional video, pleading for the forgiveness of Nigerians, especially her colleagues Iyabo Ojo and Princess.

Recall that the internet was set on fire over the weekend after Biola featured Baba Ijesha on her podcast, Talk to B. During the sit-down, the embattled actor maintained his innocence, claiming he was “set up” by Princess and even dragged Iyabo Ojo into the mix, alleging she once trusted him with her children.

In the tearful video sighted by Gistlife, Biola Bayo debunked claims that she was trying to “wash” the actor’s image or intentionally hurt Iyabo Ojo.

In a shocking twist, the actress revealed that she is also a survivor of sexual assault, stating that she would never intentionally enable a predator.

“I apologize to everyone. I’m very sorry, please forgive me. I will never support a rapist or pedophile. I thought I was just an interviewer… I thought he would apologize but he did not do so. I’m a mother, a Christian, and I’m also a rape victim.”

Following the “heavy dragging” from fans of Iyabo Ojo and Princess, Biola had earlier pulled down the video from her YouTube channel. She clarified that her platform is meant for “both saints and sinners,” but admitted she missed the mark this time.

The apology has since triggered mixed reactions from netizens. While some praised her courage for owning up to her mistake, others insisted that the damage had already been done.
