Okai Issues Brutal Ultimatum To Gov.Seyi Makinde To Ditch Pdp For Adc Before 2027 Disaster 

The political landscape of Nigeria has been hit by a Category 5 storm. Following a crushing Court of Appeal ruling that has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in legal tatters, Kogi firebrand and ADC chieftain Usman Austin Okai has sent a chilling warning directly to Oyo State’s “Star Boy,” Governor Seyi Makinde.

The message? The PDP is a “ticking time bomb,” and Makinde is sitting right on top of it.

Okai isn’t just suggesting a career move; he’s predicting a political execution. With the March 9, 2026, court ruling affirming the injunction against the PDP’s contentious Ibadan convention, Okai argues that staying in the party is suicidal for any serious 2027 ambition.

“The Court of Appeal’s affirmation of the injunction against the Ibadan convention signals the likely direction of the Supreme Court,” Okai warned in a statement released Monday. “Staying in the PDP is a risk no serious politician should take. If the convention is eventually nullified, every candidate produced under that structure will be automatically disqualified.”

As the PDP faces internal collapse, Okai is positioning the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the only “sanctuary” left for the politically displaced. He specifically called out Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and the Turaki-led faction, urging them to lead a mass exodus into the ADC before the commencement of the upcoming ward congresses.

He characterized the current state of the PDP as a “lost cause,” suggesting that those who remain are inadvertently serving as “APC by proxy” by allowing the opposition to remain fractured and paralyzed.

With Governor Makinde recently focusing on “finishing strong” in Oyo State and reshuffling his cabinet to secure his legacy, the pressure is now at a breaking point. Okai is urging the Governor and his supporters to register en masse with the ADC immediately to build a united front against the ruling All Progressives Africans (APC).

The million-dollar question remains: Will Makinde jump ship to spearhead a genuine “Third Force,” or will he go down with the PDP Titanic?
