Nollywood mainstay Faithia Williams has officially set the timeline for the final rites of her mother, Mrs. Gloria Uzoamaka Williams, following her passing last month.

The actress, who recently celebrated her 55th birthday, shared the funeral arrangements via a formal flier, signaling the beginning of the final farewell for the woman she described as her “best friend and gist partner.”

The burial activities are scheduled to take place this weekend, beginning with a focus on intimate family traditions:

  • Friday, March 6: Wake-keep, followed by the Interment and Lying-in-State.
  • Sunday, March 8: A Thanksgiving Mass will be held at St. Monica Catholic Church.

In a detailed update to her fans and colleagues, Williams emphasized that the upcoming ceremonies are strictly by invitation. To maintain the sanctity of the family’s grieving process, admission into the hall will be restricted to those who receive an invitation from a designated number.

However, the actress was quick to reassure the public that this is not the final opportunity to pay respects.

“For those who have asked for the burial details, the family has decided on a private ceremony… However, a later date will be announced for the final burial ceremony that will accommodate all and sundry.”

The announcement comes as Faithia continues to process the loss of her mother, whose death was initially kept from her until after her birthday festivities. Reflecting on their bond, the actress noted that the reality of the passing hasn’t fully “sunk in,” as she continues to lean on the emotional support of the entertainment community.

“I’m truly grateful for the emotional support, the calls, the visits, and the show of love,” she shared. “I do not take your expressions of love for granted.”
