LAGOS – Dami Marshall, daughter of Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), has officially shut down reports suggesting a romantic entanglement with Afrobeats heavyweight, Asake. The legal practitioner and Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor took to her Instagram page on Sunday to clear the air after a photo of the duo went viral, sparking a frenzy across the Nigerian blogosphere. The rumour mill began spinning at high speed after Dami shared a cozy picture with the “Lonely At The Top” crooner at a recent event. What caught everyone’s eye was her playful caption: “Mr Money and Mrs Money.” While fans and gossip blogs immediately interpreted the post as a “soft launch” of a new celebrity relationship, Dami has now clarified that the interaction was far from romantic. In a direct rebuttal shared with her followers, Miss Marshall explained that the photo was simply a snapshot from their very first encounter. “Guys, that was my first time meeting him [Asake], so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs; they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote. She also took the opportunity to remind the public of her professional standing, asserting that she is a legal practitioner and government official, not a media personality looking for clout. The “Mr. Money” singer has remained notoriously private about his dating life since his highly publicized split from his Gambian girlfriend, Madame Mystique, in 2024. Despite various link-ups with models and high-profile figures over the past two years, the singer has yet to confirm a new partner.
