By Our Correspondent In a blistering open letter that has sent shockwaves through the polity, Chief Olawale Ojoge-Daniel, a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court, has issued a “Red Alert” to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the proposed 7.5% tax on bank transactions as nothing short of state-sanctioned robbery. The legal luminary and social crusader warned that the policy is “NOT reform” but a direct invitation to social rupture, arguing that the government has crossed the line from regulation to predation. Ojoge-Daniel argued that taxation is a social contract where citizens pay in exchange for services. However, he contended that in a country where the government provides neither security nor welfare, extracting more money from the people is legally and morally defective. “Citizens are taxed, levied, and bled, yet left without security, welfare, or dignity,” he wrote. “This is not taxation. It is SPOLIATION. Nemo dat quod non habet — a government that has given nothing cannot take more.” Citing Section 14(2)(b) of the Constitution, the Barrister reminded the Presidency that the security and welfare of the people is the primary duty of government—a duty he insisted has “FAILED.” He warned that charging people to move their own money in an economy where they generate their own power, water, and security is “Class Exploitation” and “political suicide.” Drawing from the philosophies of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke, Ojoge-Daniel warned that when a government becomes more terrifying than the chaos it is meant to prevent, it loses its legitimacy. “This policy is a direct invitation to mass resistance and the kind of chaos history calls REVOLUTION,” he stated. “Treat citizens as expendable revenue, and society WILL respond.” He concluded by labeling the advisors behind the policy as “enemies of the people” whose recommendations are “devilish in intent and predatory in consequence.” #ThisIsRobbery #TaxRevolt #Tinubu #OjogeDaniel #7point5Percent #SayNoToOppression #EconomicSabotage #NaijaNews #RevolutionNow #LegalAlert Post navigation “Settle Us, Forget Roads for Now” – Explosion Victims Eye N30bn FG Palliative Owoseni Turbaned as Atunluse-Ilu Adini, Hails Religious Unity in Oyo State
