OMO OLOFIERE WRITES For eight years, the people of Egbeda State Constituency have been watching. For eight years, we have been waiting. For eight years, we have endured representation without representation. Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola, alias Sunky, has spent two full terms in the Oyo State House of Assembly. That is eight years of bogus claims, eight years of Agodi politics, eight years of abandoning the people who voted for him. Let us ask a sincere question: What can he show in Egbeda? Go to Erunmu, go to Olodo, go to Alakia, Ayede, Alugbo, Monatan, Oloya, Olofiere, Olode, Alagbo, Olubi – the story is the same. No constituency road. No borehole. No transformer. No renovated school block. No scholarship. No functional constituency office. No town hall meeting. The only thing on record in 8 years is one empowerment in 2022 where 174 people got machines and small cash at Urban Day. 174 people out of over 400,000 people in 8 years! Is that an achievement to be proud of? Never! A LAWMAKER IN AGODI, A STRANGER IN EGBEDA We have a lawmaker who is only known as Deputy Majority Leader in the House, but unknown in his own wards. He is Chairman of Finance and Appropriation Committee that passes billions for the Governor, but cannot appropriate development to Egbeda. That is not representation. That is betrayal. Egbeda does not need a lawmaker who only appears during elections. Egbeda needs a son who lives with the people, feels their pains, and fights for them daily. AND THAT SON IS HON. YEMI BERNARD OLURINDE – YBO! In 2027, Egbeda must make a bold statement. We must retire failure and elect capacity, compassion and competence. HON. YEMI BERNARD OLURINDE (YBO) is the answer. YBO is not a stranger to our people. He is a grassroots mobilizer, a community builder, a man who has been empowering our market women, youths and farmers even without holding any political office. He knows the roads in Egbeda that are bad. He knows the schools in Alakia that need renovation. He knows the youths in Olodo who need jobs. He knows the traders in Monatan who need support. WHAT YBO WILL DO DIFFERENTLY: True Constituency Projects: No more audio projects. Real roads, drainages, boreholes, transformers and classroom blocks in all 11 wards. Youth and Women Empowerment: Massive skills acquisition, ICT training, and interest-free loans for traders and artisans. Educational Support: WAEC, JAMB, and scholarship support for every ward in Egbeda. Open Door Representation: A functional constituency office in Egbeda and quarterly town hall meetings – No more Agodi politics. Effective Lawmaking: Laws that protect farmers, traders and youths of Egbeda. The time has come. Egbeda cannot continue with 8 years of nothing.
