Barrister Lawal Akeem Ishola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Oluyole State Constituency, has welcomed the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and her entourage to Oyo State, pledging a renewed grassroots push for the party’s success ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ishola gave the assurance as Oyo State hosts the official inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearer initiative, the opening of its secretariat and a mega rally aimed at strengthening the APC’s mobilisation across the state.

Welcoming the First Lady, Ishola described her as “our mother and our pride,” expressing delight at her presence in what he described as the “political headquarters of the Southwest.”

“Our mother and our pride, welcome to the political headquarters of the Southwest. We are happy to have you in our city,” Ishola said.

The APC candidate said the Tinubu Torchbearer initiative would provide fresh impetus for party members and supporters to intensify their mobilisation at the grassroots, stressing that the success of the APC would require collective commitment across all levels.

According to him, the inauguration of the initiative and the opening of its secretariat would further energise the party’s structure and inspire members to take the campaign for APC victory to every ward and community.

“This initiative will charge us to go out for the success of the party from top to bottom,” Ishola stated, reaffirming his commitment to working with other party stakeholders to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged party members and supporters in Oyo State to seize the opportunity provided by the initiative to deepen grassroots engagement, unite around the party and work towards securing victory for the APC at all levels.

Ishola’s remarks come as the APC intensifies its mobilisation efforts in Oyo State, with stakeholders seeking to consolidate the party’s structures and build stronger support ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
