Former Oyo State governorship aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has attributed the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State to what he described as the decisive leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Kareem said the safe return of the victims after weeks in captivity reflected the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting the lives of Nigerians and confronting insecurity through coordinated security operations.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain commended President Tinubu for providing the leadership and support that enabled security agencies to carry out the rescue operation successfully.

He also lauded the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilantes and the Oyo State Government for their professionalism, courage and intelligence-driven collaboration throughout the operation.

According to him, the successful rescue has brought relief to the families of the victims and restored hope among residents of Oyo State, while reinforcing public confidence in Nigeria’s security architecture.

Kareem said the operation demonstrated that with strong leadership, effective intelligence gathering and synergy among security agencies, criminal elements could be successfully confronted and defeated.

He urged the Federal Government not to relent in strengthening security across schools and vulnerable communities, particularly in rural areas, to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The former governorship aspirant also called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with credible information, stressing that the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes requires sustained collaboration between government and citizens.

He expressed optimism that the successful rescue would serve as a renewed source of hope for Nigerians and a strong warning to criminal groups that acts of terror would not be allowed to prevail.
