2027: I Will Emerge APC Candidate – Adelabu

A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and former Minister for Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed absolute confidence that he will emerge as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election in Oyo State.

Speaking with journalists at the Agodi-Gate praying ground in Ibadan, the state capital, Adelabu clarified that his camp is currently awaiting the official declaration of the party’s primary election results. He firmly stated that only the national leadership of the APC possesses the constitutional mandate to announce the authentic outcome of the exercise.

The governorship hopeful dismissed the influence of local political factions, stressing that no individual or structure at the state level has the authority to declare a winner. He urged his core supporters to remain calm and keep their fingers crossed until the national working committee provides a clear and final directive regarding the electoral process.

Addressing the internal dynamics within the Oyo State chapter of the party, Adelabu emphasized that politics should strictly serve as a vehicle for community service and collective progress, rather than a weapon to tear people apart. He noted that disagreements, crises, and eventual resolutions are inevitable components of any vibrant democratic system, maintaining that the shared vision holding APC members together remains far stronger than their temporary differences.

Using the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the APC chieftain extended his goodwill message to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and across Nigeria. He urged citizens to deeply imbibe the virtues of compassion, mutual love, and peaceful coexistence, pointing out that such values are critical to eradicating the menace of kidnappings, senseless killings, and other social vices currently plaguing the society.

Adelabu concluded his address by offering special prayers for divine guidance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He expressed optimism that the President’s administration will continue to provide the quality leadership required to actualize the collective aspirations of Nigerians for a prosperous and secure nation.
